Color




The photo of the Spider-Man and My Little Pony snack boxes are two great examples of using colors to advertise. The images are taken together to compare and contrast the two flamboyant colors. The boxes are similar in the way of trying to sell to the same age group from ages 6-12 with the use of blue for boys and pink for girls. This is a smart was of advertising to a little kid where they are even more susceptible to buying a product thats just based off its color. The representation of dark blue and red would make a boy feel more boyish and the pink and light yellow would make a girl feel more girlie. The advertiser is selling to a particular age group, children, where then its the child's job to sell to their parent. The colors are very saturated and lively making it an eye catcher.

The photo that represents chemicals is very much a contradiction to its point. Looking at the vibrant colors it appears to symbolize fun and a spontaneous attitude. The colors are elementary like and do not come close to representing toxic chemicals that are deadly. The bright colors do catch and appeal to the eye although it miss leads on what it stands for. When bright fun colors stand for toxic colors it can be very misleading especially for young kids and therefor be dangerous.
